September 1, 2004 -- NewOrleans.Com’s Restaurant Guide, a quarterly publication targeting visitors to New Orleans with listings of high-quality area restaurants, today announced the addition of an online Private Party / Group Sales Referral service for planners of special events or private functions at restaurants. The service provides a tool for both locals and visitors to New Orleans to help select restaurants suitable for private or special events.

Robert Moreau, Publication Manager, commented, “There are thousands of restaurants in New Orleans, and hundreds of those have some type of private party facilities and services. This referral service puts event planners together with those restaurants that have the facilities and services to fulfill the planner’s unique requirements for a special event. NewOrleans.Com’s “FoodFest” website (http://FoodFest.NewOrleans.Com) already includes a searchable database of over 500 restaurants, many with reviews from local, well-respected food critic Tom Fitzmorris, restaurant profiles, photographs, and links to restaurant websites. The restaurant database is open and available for public use, but with so many restaurants available, the private function request form is better suited for searching for private function facilities.

The service is free for event planners by using the online form at http://foodfest.neworleans.com/groupsales.html. Each request is handled ultimately by the NewOrleans.Com staff, who make selections of finalist restaurants for the planner’s benefit. Qualifying restaurants are then provided with the planner’s specifications and contact information, and the restaurants contact the planner directly with proposals.
